Ever wondered what happens when you combine a sealed SharePoint Portal 2001 DVD box? Or acquire a comfy, unique Lists sweatshirt? Find out answers to these questions and more in this wonderful chat with Microsoft MVP, João Ferreira! We discussed his current take and use of Microsoft Lists, how he pulls in information (daily) to produce his four monthly product roadmap blogs and podcasts, and best approaches to adopting AI/Copilot.
Joao isn't just any SharePoint enthusiast—he makes Lists and SharePoint look so good; people react exclaiming "that doesn't look like SharePoint anymore!" And he built a Microsoft To Do clone entirely in Lists to create an automated alert systems. That’s pure JSON magic pours from his fingertips. You’ll hear more and get inspired in the replay (+ link to his solution below).
For the roadmap solutions, he's built an entire system using Lists (naturally), Power Automate, and custom browser extensions to track and publish updates for SharePoint, Teams, Copilot, and Viva. He even experimented with AI-generated podcasts, though listeners keep asking for his actual voice instead of Google's; I agree here, aka, always more João!
The conversation rounded out with AI adoption. The surprising insight? Newer Microsoft 365 customers might have an easier time adopting Copilot than mature ones—less content means less governance anxiety. Seems, the biggest fear isn't the technology; it's the perception of oversharing and finding the happy medium of reality beyond perception.
Keep up with João Ferreira
